Apex UMC and Fiesta Cristiana, along with a dozen other churches, have partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Wake County to build a house in Apex this winter at 1516 Boxwood Lane in the Knollwood neighborhood. As a church, we committed to fielding a group of volunteers on two specific days. This past Saturday, Feb. 3, a dedicated huddle of hammerers braved the cold to finish erecting walls and start putting sheathing and insulation board up on the outside. Our next date is Saturday, March 10, and we are also responsible for providing lunch for all the volunteers at the site.

For those with flexible schedules, there are opportunities to serve every week from now through March on Thursdays and Fridays. Construction volunteers are asked to sign up directly with Habitat-Wake.

If you would like to help with lunch on March 10, contact Kathy Best. For questions about the project, contact Jeff Portzer.
