Youth Ministry

For youth in 6-12th grade

Come Join Us!

Our youth ministries program gives students (grades 6-12) incredible options for ministry. Whether through serving, music, missions, fun outings, study groups or small groups, we offer a variety of programs for students to find where they connect the best. Confirmation is an experience to allow students (6-12th grades) to learn about their faith and to challenge them to claim their faith as their own. Parents serve as their student’s Confirmation partner with the help of additional adult mentors. Confirmation consists of five sessions, usually beginning in February, and a retreat, usually in April. Informational meetings and registration will take place in January.

For one week each summer, youth (rising 8th graders through graduating seniors) and adults from our family of faith communities make repairs on the homes of seniors in Apex and surrounding areas through the Apex Outreach Service Project. 2017 dates TBD.

YES (Youth Engaged in Service) is a mission weekend developed specifically for the middle school youth of our faith communities. It is designed to be an introduction to mission work – why we do it, for whom we do it and how we do it. Participants will experience the same things they can expect to encounter during more intense, week-long projects like AOSP and ASP, but in a condensed timeframe. 2017 dates TBD.

The youth of our faith communities will host Trunk-or-Treat on Sunday, Oct. 30, from 5-7 p.m. at Apex UMC! Students and adults will decorate their cars, dress up and pass out candy for kids to enjoy! There is a competition for the best car, most creative car and best atmosphere car—prizes will be awarded! All cars must come to set up between 4-4:45 p.m.

This is a community event – invite your friends and neighbors!

We are heading to Fayetteville, N.C., for Pilgrimage, November 11-13. Over 5,000 students from the N.C. Conference of the UMC will attend this event weekend full of amazing speakers and inspiring youth leaders. It’s a weekend of fun, fellowship and an experience that calls everyone to a stronger faith in Christ.

To participate in any of our outings and missions, we must have a current student ministry form on file. Please download the form and bring it to the church office. We have notaries on staff at the church to assist you.
