Date & Time: meet at Apex Gym on Sunday, September 25th. There is one morning shift lasting approximately 1 hour (8:15-9:30am).

Description: Help package 40,000 meals in the matter of a few short hours, meals that will impact a school lunch program, orphanage or other transformational programs around the world. This event will be educational, impactful and fun for all ages (children 5 and up) and abilities.

What to wear: Comfortable, casual clothing.

Pardoned by Christ Landscaping – PROJECT DONE

Date & Time: We will meet at 109 Pineland Circle, Raleigh, 27606 NC on Saturday, September 24th at 8:30am. The project should be completed by noon. 

Description: Pardoned by Christ’s mission is to reach out to people directly or indirectly affected by incarceration, who will receive the love and provision that is found in Jesus Christ. For this project, we will help spread approximately 3 yards of pine bark in the front bed of a home. Plant ground cover with Ajuga on side yards. Plant fall flowers in front flower pots and front bed. There is an optional cook-out after the event. 

What to wear: Comfortable, work clothing and bring work gloves

Brown Bag Ministry – PROJECT DONE

Date & Time: Meet at St. Andrew The Apostle Church (3008 Old Raleigh Rd, Apex, NC 27502) on Saturday, September 24th at 9:30am. The project should last until 1:30pm. 

Description: Have you ever wanted to serve Christ and just did not know how? Well now is your chance. According to the gospel we can serve our fellow man and it’s easy to accomplish. Join me and 60 others to serve our fellow brothers and sisters. We will meet at St. Andrew Apostle Church to make bag lunches and then proceed to Oak City Outreach Center and pass out the bag lunches to the needy. Matthew 25:35 “For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat”. John 21:16 “Simon son of John, do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love you”. He said to him, “Shepard My Sheep”. Be the difference in someone’s life it only costs a little time. Give a little love it goes a long way.

What to wear: Comfortable, weather appropriate clothing.

What to bring: Bring your own lunch and willingness to serve.

Field Gleaning Project – PROJECT COMPETED

Date & Time: Meet at field (950 Mort Harris Road, Louisburg, NC 27549) on Sunday, September 24th at 9am. The project lasts until noon.

Description: Gleaning is the traditional biblical practice of gathering crops that would otherwise be left in the fields to rot, or be plowed under after harvest. Society of St Andrews needs your help to continue its work of saving produce from going to waste and feeding hungry people across the country.

519 ♥ Haiti 10k*5k*1m Run – PROJECT FILLED

Date & Time: Packet Pick-up and Race Day registrations will take place September 22nd & 23rd from 5-8pm @ Omega Sports, Morrisville and on September 24th on-site (American Tobacco Trail – 1305 White Oak Church Road, Apex, NC 27523)  from 7:00-8:15am.  10k begins @ 8:00,  5k begins @8:30 and one mile fun run @ 9:00. Description: We are teaming up with Family Health Ministries to offer a sanctioned 10k/5k run along the beautiful AmericanTobacco Trail in Cary, NC. This out and back course begins at the White Oak crossing, and provides a great course for fun and fast times. AUMC Grounds (Build Mulch Pit) – PROJECT FILLED

Date & Time: We will meet at the Apex Campus – between staff office and House of Hope on Saturday and Sunday, September 24th & 25th at 9am. Each day’s work should be completed by 1pm. THIS PROJECT IS AT CAPACITY

Description: This is a 2-day project!! We will build a wooden mulch/topsoil storage pit. Concrete will be poured one day 1 and 4-5 foot wooden pit built on day 2.

Be A Birthday Angel! – PROJECT FILLED

Description:  MATCH (Mothers And Their Children) provides incarcerated moms a chance to celebrate birthdays with their children. Come help make birthday decorations and cards for these kids. This project is great for kids age 8 and up.

What to bring: $10 toy donations: Balls full or nerf size(soccer, basketball, football), craft kits, barbie clothes or $10 gift cards to Target or Walmart.

Description: The Crossroads bedding box will be an 8’ circular bedding box to be made with flat rock and filled with top soil or potting soil. It is to be the new home to plants, flowers, and/or bushes.

ZOE – Family Soup Jar Assembly Line – PROJECT FILLED

Description: No experience necessary – we are assembling family soup jars. The final product of this project will be used for scholarships for those who need help to go on a ZOE mission trip. We have the ingredients. We all work together in a line to get it done. Lot’s of great jobs for all ages.

What to wear: Wear something casual and comfortable – this is an indoor project.

Bike Ministry Bike Repair Day – PROJECT FILLED

Date & Time: Meet at The Peak on Sunday, September 25th at 1pm. The project lasts until 4pm. PROJECT FILLED TO CAPACITY

Description: We repair donated bicycles for local families that cannot afford bikes for their children or for teens/adults that need transportation. This is a great opportunity for adults and children to work together. There is always help needed from washing bikes, test riding completed bikes, simple repairs to complex repairs. No repair experience is required.

What to wear: This is an outside project and you can get dirty, so dress appropriately.

What to bring: Some repair tools will be provided, but if participants have tools it would be great if they could bring their own. Also bring canopies if possible to provide shade.

Roof Repair – PROJECT FILLED

Date & Time: Location is 117 James Street, Apex. Google maps will not lead you to the correct location, so maps and directions will be provided. The project starts at 7:30am and is estimated to last until 2:30 PM but roofing work that is started must be completed before leaving the site. PROJECT FILLED TO CAPACITY

Description: We need four people experienced in roofing and/or carpentry plus two-four helpers. The project consists of reworking make-shift flashing and replacing rotting boards where front porch roof joins the main roofline. Replace several damaged shingles. Re-tar vent pipe. May repair boxing and caulk other areas if time allows. Need two or three people experienced in roofing and carpentry work plus several helpers. Will require working from ladders and climbing on a roof on single story ranch house. We will need to complete all work that is started as the residence is occupied and needs to be leak-free at end of work day. Need one experienced roofer/carpenter to visit the site with me prior to Serve Sunday for planning purposes.

What to wear: Working clothes, closed-toe shoes, and a hat.

What to bring: Those experienced in roofing should bring roofing tools such as hammers, nail pullers, saws, tape measures, square, caulk gun, drop cords, assortments of nails, etc. All workers should bring water, snacks, sunscreen, bug spray, and gloves. Lunch will be provided.

Simple Gifts Community Garden – PROJECT FILLED
