Apex UMC and Fiesta Cristiana are working together to establish a tutoring program to partner with Hispanic/Latino children for extracurricular support. Students will be tutored in DC 400 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. starting Sept. 11. There are two more optional training sessions to learn about the program: Aug. 1 or 2 (5:30-6:30 p.m. in CLC 206/207). There is no shortage of students needing to be tutored. Both tutors and substitute tutors are needed. Tutors to commit to one-on-one tutoring for a student (once or twice a week) from September to December.

Donations are also needed for Semillas: pencils, paper, composition books, crayons, flash cards, workbooks, chapter books and educational games.  Items collected for Semillas can be placed in the bin outside DC 400. Checks can also be written to Apex UMC or Fiesta Cristiana with the designation for “Semillas” supplies. Contact Kelly Lewis with any questions about how you can get involved.
