Thank you for your interest in our preschool program. We look forward to the opportunity to work with you and your child in providing a loving, nurturing, Christian environment in which he or she may grow in body, mind, and spirit. Our teachers are carefully selected because of their high level of expertise and their love of children. We believe that every child is a gift from God and that he or she deserves the best in quality preschool education. We strive to work with you, the parents, in providing this for every child who enters our program.
Our Mission: Apex United Methodist Church Preschool is committed to providing a quality Christian preschool program available to the children of our community. Our goal is to offer an environment in which children can explore God’s love through many creative activities. We believe in a developmentally appropriate curriculum that nurtures children’s spiritual, physical, emotional, social, and intellectual growth. Through Bible stories, chapel services, music, and games, within our curriculum, children will come to know the Word of God and will discover Christ’s unique and individual love for them. Our curriculum is based on the knowledge that children learn through play. A typical day for our children includes free play, circle time, music and movement, crafts, playground time, games, language development, sharing and snack. We offer chapel with music and bible stories and music class each week.
AUMC preschool loosely follows the Wake County School System’s traditional calendar for holidays, teacher workdays and inclement weather days. We begin our school year in early September and end the last week of May. Classes start at 9 a.m. and end at 12 p.m., with the exception of our 2-year-old classes that dismiss at 11:45 a.m. Beginning in October, an optional Lunch Bunch program is offered to the 4- and 5-year-olds on Wednesdays and Thursdays providing them an opportunity to stay for lunch which extends their school day to 12:45 p.m.
All of our teachers are carefully selected for their backgrounds in education, their experience and their love of children. All classes have a teacher and an assistant. Our 2-year-old classes have 10 children, 3-year-old classes have 12 children, and 4- and 5-year-old classes have 14 children. We try to balance the classes as evenly as possible with boys and girls.
Registration for the 2017-2018 Preschool year is right around the corner!
Information Sessions and Tours will be offered on Dec. 9, Jan. 12, 13 and 17. They will begin at 9:30 a.m. in room 400, upstairs in the preschool building. No need to register…just show up! We will not provide individual/private tours outside of these times as it is disruptive to our current preschool routine, so please make every effort to attend one of these sessions.
Registration must occur in the following order, so in the event of inclement weather, please check the website or call to check on possible rescheduling.

Details About Registration
- AUMC Preschool uses a lottery system for Registration.
- Registration will take place upstairs in room 400 of the preschool building.
- Please bring a completed Student Enrollment Form with you to Registration. The form will be available in the Preschool Office, the Church Office or by downloading it from the website.
- You must be in line at the check-in table by the scheduled time (no later than 10:30 a.m.) to be entered in the lottery. If you arrive after this time, you will be able to register once the lottery is over. Please allow for time to park and check in.
- Your Student Enrollment Form will be checked for completeness, and then you will receive a ticket to be entered in the lottery. Tickets will be randomly drawn for your turn to register.
- A nonrefundable fee of $100 is due at the time of registration. For two children, the fee is $150. There is no fee to be placed on a wait list. Please bring cash or check as we do not accept credit cards.

AUMC Preschool will once again be offering three weeks of Summer Camp in June for rising 3 year olds, rising 4 year olds and rising transition/kindergartners. (Students must be the specified age on or before August 31, 2017). Each session will be four days long, Monday through Thursday. The children will enjoy summer games and activities as well as crafts, free play, playground time and a snack.
Session 1 — June 5-8 — Favorite Authors
Session 2 — June 12-15 — Painting without Brushes
Session 3 — June 19-22 — Crazy Concoctions
Summer Camp hours are from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. The tuition is $80 per session. Summer Camp tuition is due in full with Registration Paperwork by cash or check made payable to AUMC Preschool. There are no refunds for camp payments.
You can pick up Registration Forms and Paperwork from the Preschool Office. Details about registration are outlined in the paperwork. It will done by lottery, if needed, but you do not need to be present. To be included in the lottery, forms and payment are due to the Preschool Office by Monday, March 6. Notifications will be made on March 7. After this time, any openings will be filled on a first come-first served basis.
